Elite Amateur Bryce Lewis receives exemption into Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS

Springfield, IL – May 16, 2023 - The Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS announced today that Bryce Lewis has been granted a sponsor exemption for the upcoming tournament, set to take place June 29 through July 2 at Panther Creek Country Club. The exemption comes via a partnership with the Elite Amateur Golf Series and Lewis’ finish in the series.

“We consistently look for ways to engage with stand-out amateur competitors and are thrilled to welcome Bryce to central Illinois next month and provide him an opportunity to showcase his talent against Korn Ferry Tour professionals.” said tournament director, Kate Peters.

Lewis, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and University of Tennessee graduate, closed the Series in third place with 56.5319 points after competing in four EAGS events. Lewis began his summer performance with a one stroke victory at the Sunnehanna Amateur vaulting him into the early Cup standings lead. The University of Tennessee graduate (2022) tied for fourth at the Northeast Amateur, finished fifth at the Southern Amateur and missed the 36-hole cut at the Western Amateur still earning enough points to hold the third position.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Memorial Health Championship Presented by LRS team for their support of the Elite Amateur Golf Series by inviting one of the top finishers from the 2022 Elite Amateur Cup standings to compete in this year’s tournament. We are excited for Bryce to have the opportunity to showcase his abilities against the up-and-coming stars in the game this summer in Springfield.” Said Andy Priest, Executive Director of the Southern Golf Association and Chairman of the EAGS.
