SPONSOR EXEMPTIONS ANNOUNCED FOR UPCOMING MEMORIAL HEALTH CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY LRS

Springfield—June 14, 2022—The Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS announced that David Perkins, a central Illinois native and Trey Valentine, a current member of the APGA Tour have been awarded sponsor exemptions for the upcoming tournament. “Both golfers demonstrate tremendous talent, and we are looking forward to seeing them compete,” said Tournament Director, Kate Peters. “As you might imagine, we receive countless requests for consideration and the decision was tough, but we know that both young men are on the cusp of a future on the PGA TOUR, and we are thrilled to offer them our stage to showcase their talent.”


Valentine, of Boynton Beach, Florida competes regularly on the APGA Tour, whose mission is to bring greater diversity to the game of golf. “It is an honor and a privilege to receive an exemption into the Springfield event,” said Valentine. “I am looking forward to engaging with the community and competing again on the Korn Ferry Tour.”


Perkins, an East Peoria, Illinois native and graduate of Illinois State University is excited to showcase his talent close to home, “Since I was in high school, I’ve been dreaming of competing on the PGA TOUR,” said Perkins. “Starts are very hard to come by for a newly turned professional and I plan to make the most of my time in Springfield in July.”

Those registering can also purchase upgraded tickets to the J&J Gaming VIP Lounge, a premium spectator venue overlooking the 9th and 18th greens with food and drink included. Daily walk-up attendance is permitted and is also at no charge via the partnership with Visit Springfield.
